Confetti Italian Ice and Custard in Costa Mesa.
Ok, I guess it's not a restaurant, but it's definitely a "mom and pop" shop, and the owner is super friendly. He gave my daughter a $20.00 gift certificate when he learned we were treating her to ice cream because she had received really good grades for the school year.

Pizza D'Oro in Costa Mesa! The BEST little hole in the wall Italian restaurant in all of Orange County!! Their portions are huge...the giant pizza slice is at least 18 inches long and they have all you can eat lasagna on Monday and all you can eat spaghetti on Wednesday for $8.95. Please gatekeep this treasure before Instagram and TikTok ruin it for all of us.

Wok In on Newport Blvd. The owner Bruce is an awesome guy, along with his mom and new wife and baby. We mostly go for the pho but we haven’t had anything on the menu that we didn’t enjoy. We drive out to Costa Mesa from north Irvine just to eat there.

Honestly, I would just make the trek to Costa Mesa! Mitsuwa off of Bristol & 405 has a great food court in their grocery store. Especially if you want to buy a bunch of random other foods/drinks! And their bakery is yummy

El Ranchito has gone downhill.
El Matador is more Mexican than Mi Casa but Mi Casa is a guilty pleasure if you love cheese 😂

Takaya in Costa Mesa. Someone recommended it on here and it’s possibly the best Japanese food I’ve had here.

Both places suggested are great and upscale. If you want something cheap near the beach I suggest Great Mex on Newport peninsula.

Meiji seimen and Kagura are two of my favorites. KaDon (a few doors down from La Palma burrito) is a good katsu place similar to Kagura but less crowded. My favorite ramen is Kitakata. Lil’ Pickle for sub sandwiches. Capital Noodle Bar. And Simply Fish for the best taco Tuesday

Not texmex, (because it sucks) but El ranchito on placentia is probably what you are looking for. Do yourself a favor and go to El Toro bravo as well. On 19th.
