Mercado Gonzalez Northgate Market in Costa Mesa- it’s truly an experience and probably one of the only places in the area that you can grocery shop with a beer in hand after eating.

Also a SD transplant. I gave up trying to get a decent California Burrito....10 years here and I just make them myself with awesome meat from Mercado Gonzalez on Harbor in Costa Mesa I think Las Barcas on Beach & Atlanta has some very good Carne Asada.
