Fuoco in DTF is excellent. The problem is that it's best eaten in house. I haven't had great luck with takeout. Parking is tough and you lose the fresh out of the oven texture. The crust is one of the best I've had.
If you’re not opposed to taking an Uber, downtown Fullerton has a ton of great restaurants for pretty much any vibe or price range. My personal favorite (especially if your grandma likes wine or cheese) is let it Brie; they have the most incredible cheese boards, sandwiches, and salads and it’s…
Just off the top of my head…
Mexican - Taqueria Los Gueros (N Anaheim but best tacos, burritos you name it I’ve ever had and definitely worth the short drive), El Camino Real, Birria Guadalajara (again, n Anaheim but not too far)
Korean/fusion - J’s Cuisine in downtown, Sup Noodle (incredible pho…
Another suggestion. There are lots of food options in and around Fullerton.
But of everything in downtown to try- my two go to recommendations will be Fuoco for amazing pizza, and Crepes Bonaparte.
Those are the two most “different” places that stand out as unique in the area.
If you're coming from Canada then you should just go to Fuoco in Fullerton for the best pizza around. Owner is a trained pizzaiola from Naples who imports everything, including the oven.
Yes, The Bowery is another great choice and they are very involved with community events. Fuoco pizza is awesome but it only comes in one small size and it's pprobably not cost effective for what OP is looking for. It is the best pizza in town though, IMO.
Fuoco is actually quite very mid. The dough is much too dense for a Neapolitan. Try either Pizzaria Sei or Bianco and you will discover a whole new world of pizza
Fuoco is the absolute best. If you have 10 of you they may take a call ahead reservation (they typically don't take reservations) but even if there's a wait it's absolutely worth it. It's so so so good. Huge variety and they're great if anyone has dietary restrictions too (my mom is gluten free and theirs is the best pizza for her, tastes like regular crust). I love the Vespa personally.
