The Ranch

Steakhouse · Anaheim · 8 source comments

IMO, all the chain steakhouses are overrated - Mortons, Ruths Chris, etc. Not all of these are fancy sit-down places, but as far as the food itself goes, all are highly recommended. Anaheim White House, Orange Hill Restaurant (technically not Anaheim, but very close), The Ranch, Roys, Okayama…

Selannes

Steakhouse · 1 source comments

Darkroom probably the best pound for pound restaurant in OC atm. Selannes for a more classic steakhouse approach. Strong Water for a fun night out while still getting a quality meal and drinks.

sound chicken

Fried Chicken · Fullerton · 2 source comments

Depends on what kind of korean food you’re looking for. Bar food? Cafe Patio. KBBQ? Mr.BBQ. Fried chicken? I got my sound chicken. There’s a ton of korean food places in the area, as well as in Buena Park. Just depends on what you’re in the mood for!

Paul's Place diner

American · 1 source comments

Paul's Place diner - they have a few locations (buena park, cypress, anaheim, los alamitos). Family owned by Greek brothers. The Greek Omlette and Chicken Sandwhich are my go-to's for breakfast and lunch, respectively. Burgers are good too.

Chris Ruth Steakhouse

Steakhouse · Costa Mesa · 1 source comments

Yelp is definitely your best friend here! Irvine is kind of an epicenter of food, so you’ll definitely have a lot of good choices. If you’re feeling Korean/Asian food, Diamond Jamboree is a must, and is very very popular here. The Crossroads has a kind of trendy atmosphere, with lots of desserts…

Flo’s Airport Cafe at the Chino Airport is also a good spot, they are best for breakfast and lunch as they close at 6p. Lots of old dairy farm and aviation-related memorabilia inside, the food is classic, greasy spoon goodness too!

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken

Fried Chicken · Santa Ana · 1 source comments

Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken, Santa Ana, an outpost of a very small chain that began near Memphis, Tennessee. Freshly fried to order, it's the best fried chicken I've found in OC. Really good sides like fried green tomatoes, fried okra, delicious baked beans. Southern-style pies (chess, sweet potato, etc.). Friendly sit-down service.
