Pop’s cafe on 9th and Main in Santa Ana. The original cute Korean couple who ran it for decades bought it back from an entrepreneur who was trying to make a quick buck. They take care of everyone and have a bunch of regulars who show up for breakfast every morning.

Depends on what kind of korean food you’re looking for. Bar food? Cafe Patio. KBBQ? Mr.BBQ. Fried chicken? I got my sound chicken. There’s a ton of korean food places in the area, as well as in Buena Park. Just depends on what you’re in the mood for!

Try California Tofu Grill. Pretty authentic Korean food. Not in the downtown area though. It's a few minutes away by car.

I live in LA, so not an expert by any means, but my faves when I’m visiting family in OC are Ma’s Chinese in Placentia — a Muslim/Uighur Chinese place with really unique (and delicious) flavors, and Cham Soot Gol kbbq in Garden Grove (this one I’m guessing is actually fairly well known).

Gyu-Kaku on Warner/Beach has a good happy hour for Japanese BBQ. Gen at Beach/Heil has decent Korean BBQ. But you really need to go to Garden Grove or Westminster for the good spots.

Not in Irvine but Kyung Bok Kung in Buena Park near Knotts Berry farm is an upscale Korean restaurant and they have private rooms if you want to have a more quiet space for conversation.

Cham Soot Gol has been my go to for Korean BBQ for almost 20 years. First the location in Garden Grove, then the Buena Park location when that one opened.
