My qualifications: grew up in HB, have traveled the world and eaten at Michelin star places and holes in walls. I don’t discriminate. I am a delicious food connoisseur. You should try Da Hawaiian Kitchen on Adams and Brookhurst. Try their chilli peppa chicken, sub bacon fried rice. Shima is great…

Packing House may be tough to get 13 seats together. Golden Road? Marri's Pizza? Mama Cozza's?

Romano Cucina is HANDS DOWN the best Italian restaurant in the area...turn right down pch from warner and it’ll be on the left. It’s in sunset beach...for a quick bite that’s delicious, hit up Fujis Famous Burgers...an Asian hybrid mom and pop place that has an AMAZING teriyaki beef avocado burrito! Soo damn good.

I’ve found that choosing to eat at the bar of most restaurants is your best bet when dining alone. I’ve run into a number of people eating solo in Cucina Alessa (HB location) at the bar. The staff is friendly, and the folks who choose to eat in that part of the restaurant generally seem open to chatting with each other.

IMO, all the chain steakhouses are overrated - Mortons, Ruths Chris, etc. Not all of these are fancy sit-down places, but as far as the food itself goes, all are highly recommended. Anaheim White House, Orange Hill Restaurant (technically not Anaheim, but very close), The Ranch, Roys, Okayama…

Tasty Noodle House is my to-go for some solid Shanghainese food! Also gonna have to second A&J + Furai Chicken—those places are bomb as well. I’d def rec going for the wings at Furai. They’re much juicer and crunchier than the regular chicken u get. If you don’t mind splurging a little, I’ve also…

I'm gonna disagree with you. As many others have said, Fuoco, Combo's, Two Saucy Broads, and the Bowery are all excellent choices. I'm not sure where you're eating or what your preference on style is but there are three different styles in my list. And Combo's has a great salad with freshly…

Pepz is nothing special. Just a pizza chain. Marri's is what I would recommend for Italian, since Mama Cozza's is also closed. Georgia's is a good idea; I also really like the loaded fries at The Kroft in the Packing House.

If you are in sunset then sunset pizza and riip are fantastic pizzas, not delivery but worth the pick up. Riip does Detroit style and sunset is more an Italian restrain that does fantastic pizzas. Dominoes would deliver to sunset if you need delivery.

Mazzara Trattoria for the best Italian in town, and Black Trumpet is pretty amazing as well. Fiesta grill is definitely amazing and if you want bomb donuts check out the donuttery on beach past Slater.
