Mitasie Vegan Cafe in Lake Forest. They only have this location and their original location in HB (their HB location is a full service sit down restaurant unlike their LF location). I also liked Huntington Ramen in Fullerton and Tama Sushi in HB, but I haven't been to them in a while.

Normita’s Surf City Taco. Hole in the wall spot. Fish tacos are served fried. They are big and it’s cash only. I also like Bear Flag Fish Co in Pacific City. Their fish tacos, ceviche and guppy plates for kids are what we get.

My go to place is called Irassae, on Adams and Magnolia. It’s very good but pretty small, they have maybe 10 tables. Their scallop and red snapper nigiri are my favorite.

I really like The Works burrito at Kelly’s Donuts on Warner and Gothard. Egg, ham, sausage, bacon, potato. Salsa on the side, and pour it on as you eat. Good stuff. Edit: It’s huge.

Green Street Cafe off Warner and Bolsa Chica (north HB)! It’s a bonus if you also like chicken & waffles, because they have the best. It’s a small spot less than a mile from the beach. I’ve never had a bad meal there.
