Love portokalopita but I’ve never seen it on a menu in the states :/ if someone knows of a place I’d like to hear. In my experience you can find some decent but not great/authentic Greek food in OC, I’ve had much better experiences in LA. There’s a place called Aliki’s Taverna that was surprisingly good when I went a couple years ago, George’s Greek cafe in Long Beach was also quite good.
Ensenada’s is a really good surf and turf Waba Grill has decent teriyaki for a chain Nick the Greek is pretty good Greek food run by some faculty at CSUF Noodle Street and What’s Up Men are both decent ramen places.
There’s a lot around to see within walking distance.

My qualifications: grew up in HB, have traveled the world and eaten at Michelin star places and holes in walls. I don’t discriminate. I am a delicious food connoisseur.
You should try Da Hawaiian Kitchen on Adams and Brookhurst. Try their chilli peppa chicken, sub bacon fried rice.
Shima is great…
Thai Basil is the best Thai place
There’s in n out if you aren’t from California
Ensenadas has amazing fish tacos
Huntington ramen is the best ramen place in town
If you have a car, downtown Fullerton is nearby and there’s a lot of neat places there, Rutabegorz is a cool unique place with…
• Silk Thai is the best Thai in HB, and in my experience, all of Orange County. It's surprisingly good for a strip mall off of Beach Blvd, and the owner Sue is lovely.
• Olive Pit is damn good Greek food. There are many options nearby you, like Golden Olive and also Athens West on Main St in Seal…
I work in Irvine so I usually only have lunch there, but these are my favorite:
House of Kebob II - everything is great (Persian)
Annapoorna's - lunch buffet is great (mix of North/South Indian)
Greek Island Cuisine - I'm stuck on the Biriani, it's good. Haven't tried much else.
Pizza D'Oro had specials everyday of the week including all you can eat lasagna on Mondays and all you can eat spaghetti on Wednesdays.
The Pizza Bakery has a great Monday Night Special where you get a salad, spaghetti, slice of pizza, and drink for ~$10.
Ho Sum Bistro has my favorite brunch on…
Issara Thai is excellent and fast on their delivery but really you should dine in for their lunch or dinner specials. Red Table can be pricey, but the happy hour is good. Roman's for mexican food, Olive Pit for Greek. Sea Salt Sushi is great, they make their own soy sauce. Bars would be Harbour Rack house or Johnny's. Also get the pizza from Johnny's.
