True Food Kitchen at Fashion Island is your best bet. They cater to people with dietary restrictions, and have many gluten-free options. I went there with a large group of family members - two with celiac, one vegan, and many foodies - and *everyone* raved about the food. It’s in a stand-alone building in the parking lot on the Whole Foods/Barnes & Noble side.

I always recommend Lido Bottle Works in Newport. It's a dimly-light, intimate restaurant right on the docks but not over-the-top by any means, mainly because it's so small. Sit at the wine bar or covered patio tables, and you can go for a walk along the docks and hang by the firepits near Nobu…

The Cannery is quite expensive but beautiful, right on the bay. Sol Cocina is on the water and great Mexican food.

IDK if these are hidden gems but here is where I like to eat.
In Brea theres The Hat for some of the best pastrami sandwiches, The Classic Cafe in Fullerton for some cozy vibes and homemeade Korean food (I love their ramen with cheese), I love The Den in Santa Ana for healthy food and artistic…

Gracias Madre in Newport Beach. It’s vegan but don’t let that deter you, the food is great. But that helps you avoid the egg and seafood allergy. And they even have notes on the menu for items that are “nut free” so you should be covered

In Newport: Rusty Pelican and Louie’s By The Bay are top notch. Billy’s is between them but serves more seagull food than fine dining. Outside of Newport try Spashes restaurant at Surf and Sand Hotel. The waves can splash on the windows.

Not Michelin, but Ohshima is my #1 for omakase ($60) in OC. San Shi Go Newport is also pretty good ($130) and Omakase by Gino if you like expensive ingredients ($185).

I really like Angelina's Pizzeria Napoletana, Oliver's Trattoria, The Farmhouse at Roger's Garden, and Fable & Spirit! The first two are in Irvine and the third and fourth in Newport Beach. All of them have good vibes and delicious food!
